Zoology and Animal Ecology
The Zoology and Animal Ecology section of the conference covers a broad range of topics, ranging from the distribution of animal species and the different aspects of species' interactions with the environment to animal genetics, physiology, behavior, conservation, and other topics in which study objects are animals.
Topics:
- Factors determining species distribution and abundance
- Species interaction with the environment and interspecies interaction
- Breeding ecology of animals
- Animal evolution
- Animal migrations
- Applications of non-invasive methods in animal research - bioacoustics, camera trapping, environmental DNA, etc.
- Molecular ecology of animals
- Conservation ecology of animals
Reports may also be submitted on other topics related to wild animals.

Format: in person (presenters and listeners) | online (listeners only)
Working language: English | Latvian
Oral presentations: Standard talk slot is 15 minutes (12 minutes for talk and 3 minutes for questions). The preferred format is PPT (Microsoft PowerPoint) or PDF. While the screen output in the auditoriums is configured for wide-screen (16:9) format, presentations in the standart (4:3) format can also be shown.
Poster presentations: Poster boards will be oriented as portraits. Poster size should not exceed A0 format. A0-sized posters can only be oriented vertically. It is advisable to bring push pins or velcro.
