Latvijas Universitātes 84. starptautiskās zinātniskās konferences sekcijas “Matemātika, statistika un datu zinātne un to starpdisciplinārie lietojumi” mērķis ir iepazīstināt ar jaunākajiem sasniegumiem gan teorētiskajos, gan lietišķajos pētījumos matemātikā, statistikā un datu zinātnē. Sekcija aptver plašu tematu loku — no matemātiskās teorijas un statistiskās metodoloģijas līdz perspektīviem pētījumiem mašīnmācīšanās un datu virzītu pieeju jomā, īpašu uzsvaru liekot uz to pielietojumu dažādās nozarēs, piemēram, tehnoloģijās, sociālajās zinātnēs un veselības aprūpē. Sekcija kalpo kā forums fundamentālu rezultātu prezentēšanai līdztekus praktiskiem pētījumiem, veicinot starpdisciplināru ideju apmaiņu un sadarbību.
