The conference venue

The conference will be held at the new Academic Centre of University of Latvia (Jelgavas iela 1). The buildings are located within a 10-minute walking distance from the Latvian National Library, which is just across the bridge from Riga's Old Town. Since the conference will take place in the summer, it will be the perfect time to explore beautiful Riga!

 

Accomodations

Conference participants will have the opportunity to stay at the (****), located a 20-minute walk from the venue, next to one of Riga's largest parks. The hotel is also easily accessible from the city center by tram. It is also close to, a recently renovated market featuring food stalls and vendors selling local delicacies.

Bellevue Park Hotel Riga 

Located next to one of Riga’s largest green spaces, Victory Park, Bellevue Park Hotel is a comfortable and convenient option for conference participants. The hotel is situated just a 20-minute walk or a couple tram stops from the Academic Center of the University of Latvia. It is easily accessible by tram from the city center, with nearby stops making it simple to explore the rest of Riga. The hotel is also close to Āgenskalns market, a beautifully renovated space featuring local food vendors, cafés, and traditional Latvian delicacies.

Park Inn by Radisson Riga Valdemara 

Situated on the west bank of the Daugava River, Park Inn by Radisson Valdemara offers modern accommodation with scenic river views. The hotel is located near the vibrant Āgenskalns neighborhood, known for its historic wooden architecture and local cafés.

To reach the Academic Center of the University of Latvia, it’s approximately a 25-minute walk or a 10-minute ride by tram No. 1 or bus. Public transport stops are located just steps from the hotel, providing direct connections across the city.

Radisson Blu Daugava Hotel 

Overlooking the Daugava River and offering panoramic views of Riga’s Old Town, the Radisson Blu Daugava provides a scenic and central location for conference attendees.

The Academic Center of the University of Latvia is located just a 10-minute walk away across the nearby bridge, making it one of the most conveniently located hotels for the event. The hotel is also close to the “Nacionālā bibliotēka” tram and bus stops, offering easy access to both the city center and other parts of Riga.

 

How to get from the airport to the conference venue

By Public Bus

Riga International Airport is conveniently connected to the city center by Bus Route 22, which operates every 10–20 minutes from 5:25 AM to 12:40 AM. The journey to the city center takes approximately 30–45 minutes.

Tickets cost:

€1.50 if purchased in advance from Narvesen shops or ticket machines

€1.81 if purchased directly from the bus driver (card payments only)

Bus Route 22 has stops conveniently located near all three official conference hotels:

Park Inn by Radisson Valdemara – Disembark at “Slokas iela”

Bellevue Park Hotel – Disembark at “Daugavgrīvas iela”

Radisson Blu Daugava Hotel – Disembark at “Nacionālā bibliotēka”

Conference Venue
The closest stop to the venue is also “Nacionālā bibliotēka”. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to the University of Latvia campus.

By Taxi

A taxi ride from the airport to the city center takes 15–25 minutes, depending on traffic. Fares typically range from €18 to €35. The taxis that cover also airport are, fore example, Red Cab and Bolt, using the Bolt app.

Car Sharing

Car-sharing options such as Bolt Drive are available at the airport. These can be convenient if you're already a registered user of the app. In Riga city there are also other car-sharing firms like CityBee and Carguru, but keep in mind that you must have an app to use this service

 

Getting Around Riga

Riga has a reliable and affordable public transportation system consisting of buses, trams, and trolleybuses. However, note that services do not operate all night.

24-hour pass: €5.00

3-day pass: €8.00

5-day pass: €10.00

Tickets can be purchased via the “Rīgas Satiksme” or “Mobilly” mobile apps, at Narvesen kiosks, ticket machines at some stops, and inside some trams.
