Pagātnes krustpunkti: vara, identitāte un vēstures pētniecība
Dažādu sabiedrības grupu savstarpējās attiecības veicina identitāšu sadursmes, kas nereti atbalsojas plašākā reģionā. Sabiedrībā notiekošie procesi ietekmē varas attiecības, savukārt konfliktu rašanās un to novēršanas mehānismi atklāj sabiedrības iekšējās pretrunas. Attiecības un identitātes, kas veidojušās pagātnē, ietekmē mūsdienas un to pētniecība ir rīks, ar kuru palīdzību var rast atbildes arī uz šobrīd aktuāliem jautājumiem. Tādēļ aicinām dažādu nozaru vēstures pētniekus un studentus pieteikt referātus par pagātnes pētniecību un tās ietekmi uz mūsdienu sabiedrību.
Sekcijas ietvaros plānotas arī īpašas sesijas, kas veltītas izcilā statistiķa Marģera Skujenieka un holokausta pētnieka Andrieva Ezergaiļa apaļajām jubilejām, kā arī jaunākajiem pētījumiem un atklājumiem Baltijas arheoloģijā.

Crossroads of the Past: Power, Identity, and the Research of History
Interactions among different social groups foster identity clashes, which often resonate across the wider region. Processes unfolding within society shape power relations, while the emergence of conflicts and the mechanisms for their resolution reveal society's internal contradictions. Relationships and identities formed in the past continue to influence the present, and their study is a tool for finding answers to questions that are pressing today. Therefore, we invite historians from various fields, as well as students, to submit papers on research into the past and its impact on contemporary society.
Within the framework of the section, special sessions are also planned to mark the landmark anniversaries of the eminent statistician Marģers Skujenieks and the Holocaust scholar Andrew Ezergailis, as well as to present the latest research and discoveries in Baltic archaeology.
