Baltijas austrumpētnieku ieguldījums nozares attīstībā
Sekcija veltīta Baltijas reģiona pētnieku nozīmīgajam ieguldījumam Austrumpētniecības kā akadēmiskas disciplīnas attīstībā, savienojot 18.–20. gadsimta teorētiskās paradigmas ar mūsdienu izpratni. Mūs interesē, kā veidojās izpratne par Āzijas garīgajām tradīcijām, kā tika interpretēti reliģiskie un kultūras fenomeni, izgaismojot robežas starp mehānisku analoģiju veidošanu un patiesas izpratnes iezīmēšanos.

Klātienē Zinātņu mājas 301. telpā (Jelgavas iela 3) un attālināti LU HZF sesiju austrumpētniecībā gan par Baltijas pētnieku intelektuālo mantojumu, piemēram, Oto K. J. Rozenberga (1888–1919) un Leopolda A. fon Šrēdera (1851–1920)ieguldījumu valodas, kultūras un reliģijas studijās, gan aktuālajām metodēm un idejām mūsdienu austrumpētniecībā.

The Contribution of Baltic Orientalists to the Development of the Field
The section is dedicated to the significant contribution of scholars from the Baltic region to the development of Oriental Studies as an academic discipline, linking the theoretical paradigms of the 18th–20th centuries with contemporary perspectives. We are interested in how understandings of Asian spiritual traditions were formed, how religious and cultural phenomena were interpreted, and how the boundaries between the construction of mechanical analogies and the emergence of genuine understanding were articulated.

In person in the House of Science, Room 301 (Jelgavas iela 3, Riga), and online: the Faculty of Humanities UL Session in Oriental Studies, focusing both on the intellectual legacy of Baltic scholars – such as Otto K. J. Rosenberg (1888–1919) and Leopold A. von Schroeder (1851–1920) – and their contributions to the study of language, culture, and religion, as well as on current methods and ideas in contemporary Oriental Studies.
