August 24 - 28, the annual workshop on survey statistics, BNU 2026, of the Baltic–Nordic–Ukrainian cooperation network will take place at the House of Science of the University of Latvia (UL) in Riga.
The workshop in Riga will bring together 57 experts, researchers and statistics professionals from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Ukraine, Finland, Poland, Luxembourg, Germany and the Netherlands to discuss current challenges and future opportunities in the development of survey statistics.
This year’s main theme is “Empowering Survey Sampling with Modern Tech”. The scientific programme of the workshop will focus on both forward-looking and practically significant topics, with particular attention to the development of more efficient and resilient surveys, innovative methods and solutions for improving statistical processes, as well as the potential of artificial intelligence to support and advance statistical surveys.
The seminar will provide a valuable opportunity for professional exchange of experience, the development of new collaborations and discussions on the future of survey statistics. The BNU 2026 seminar in Riga is organised by the University of Latvia in cooperation with the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia and the Latvian Statistical Association.
