Increasing innovation capacity

The section “Increasing Innovation Capacity” of the 84th Scientific Conference of the University of Latvia with 3 sub-sections provides a strategic and interdisciplinary platform to explore, strengthen, and expand the university’s role within Latvia’s national and international innovation landscape. The section highlights emerging scientific ideas, successful research-industry collaborations, and systemic perspectives on innovation ecosystem development, fostering dialogue between academia, industry, policymakers, students, and other stakeholders.
Through its three sessions, the section captures the full spectrum of innovation pathways. “From Lab to Life: Industry-Driven Innovation” showcases joint presentations by researchers and industry partners, featuring innovations originating in university laboratories that have been successfully implemented through active co-operation with companies over the past three years. “Emerging Science: Shaping Tomorrow’s Technologies” offers a forward-looking forum for university researchers to introduce early-stage ideas, prototypes, and technological solutions with strong potential for future industry uptake, with particular emphasis on Latvia’s RIS3 priority areas. The Plenary Session “Shaping the Innovation Ecosystem” brings a systemic and strategic dimension, focusing on the broader structures, enablers, and interactions required to support sustainable innovation capacity, knowledge transfer, and ecosystem resilience.
By bridging scientific excellence with industrial relevance and ecosystem-level thinking, the section aims to inspire new partnerships, stimulate investment-ready research directions, and contribute to strengthening Latvia’s innovation capacity for global competitiveness and export growth. It welcomes all participants interested in advancing science-driven innovation for economic, societal, and technological impact.

Latvijas Universitātes 84. zinātniskās konferences sadaļa „Inovācijas kapacitātes palielināšana” nodrošina stratēģisku un starpdisciplināru platformu, lai izpētītu, stiprinātu un paplašinātu universitātes lomu Latvijas nacionālajā un starptautiskajā inovāciju vidē. Sadaļā tiek izcelti jauni zinātniskie risinājumi, veiksmīga sadarbība starp pētniecību un industriju, kā arī sistēmiskas perspektīvas inovāciju ekosistēmas attīstībā, veicinot dialogu starp akadēmisko vidi, industriju, politikas veidotājiem, studentiem un citām ieinteresētajām pusēm.
