Description

One of the main social challenges ahead has to do with a more sustainable future. In this direction, new and non-polluting means of transportation are key to meet the climate goals that have been set. In order to accomplish these objectives, a common effort by every individual is required, and sustainable mobility with private vehicles is an example of it. In this poster, the opinions among high school students regarding electric vehicles (EV) are surveyed before and after a didactic video with brief information about these. Results showed that the current status of students (in terms of the kind of vehicle owned at home) affected their opinions on the major problems of electric vehicles. Interestingly, combustion car owners were originally more sceptical about EV’s cost than hybrid owners. However, regardless of their current car, both groups modified their opinions regarding EV after the video, demonstrating that education is a key part for transforming future in terms of sustainability.
